How to Play Omaha Poker and Win a Hand at Omaha Poker?

Omaha is a community card game that is played with at least 2 to 10 players. In order to successfully play poker online real money, you need to win the chips, and you can win the chips by winning the pot in either of the two ways:

  •  All other players fold their hands. That's makes you the only player left in the pot.
  •  You have the best poker hand at showdown.

Let's Begin with the Omaha Poker Rules

1. Draw for a Dealer

Stack chips in front of each player at the table, and you are ready to go. The first thing you need is to draw the high card for a dealer. Every player is dealt one card face up. The player with the highest-ranking card starts the game as the dealer. If two players get the same card, either both get a second card or they use the suits of their card to determine the winner.

2. Put Out the Dealer Button

The dealer is given the dealer button that is usually a white disk. It is used to keep track of the current dealer in the hand. The dealer shuffles the cards and prepares to deal the first hand.

3. Put Out the Blinds

Before the cards are dealt, two players left of the dealer need to put in the blinds. The player directly left of the dealer puts a small blind and the other one puts out a big blind.

4. Deal the Cards and Start the First Betting Round

Once the blinds are placed in the pot, each player is dealt a card at a time (face down) until all players have exactly four cards. The first round of betting; known as a 'preflop' begins with the player to the left of the dealer and moves clockwise around the table. All the players have three choices: to fold, call, or raise. The amount of a call or raise depends on the size of the last bet placed.

Once everyone has had a chance to act and everyone has the same amount of money wagered, the preflop round is over.

5. Deal the Flop and Start Next Betting Round With Player Left of Dealer

After the preflop, the flop is dealt. The flop consists of 5 community cards, of which three are dealt. The dealer discards the top card on the deck face down and then deals three cards face up. After the flop is dealt, the next round of betting begins. The players have the same options available, to check, call, or raise.

6. Deal the Turn and Start Next Betting Round

Once the flop betting round is complete, the card at the top of the deck is discarded face down and another card is dealt face up next to the flop, known as the turn. Once this is done, the next round of betting begins.

7. Deal the River and Start Final Betting Round

Once ‘the turn’ betting round is complete, the last and final community card is dealt. The dealer again discards one final card face down and deals one card face up and thus begins the final round of betting, known as the river.

8. Enter the Showdown

As soon as ‘the river’ betting round is complete, all the remaining players enter into the showdown and the winner is determined with the highest-ranking poker hand.
